Notex is one calm, beautiful app for Notes, Shopping lists, Care records, and your Daily Diary. This policy explains what information the app touches, how it's stored, and the choices you have — written in plain language, not legal filler.
This policy applies to the Notex mobile app and this website. By using Notex, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect
Notex is designed to collect as little as possible. What exists falls into three categories:
- ✓Content you create — notes, shopping lists, care records, and diary entries you write inside the app.
- ✓Account details — if you choose to create a backup account, we hold only what's needed, such as your email.
- ✓Basic diagnostics — lightweight crash and performance data that helps us keep the app reliable.
Notex may request the following device permissions, always tied to a specific feature:
- 📷Camera — to attach a photo to a note or care item.
- 🖼️Photos / Storage — to import an existing image or save one you've captured.
- 🎙️Microphone — only if you turn on voice-to-text or voice notes.
💡 Permissions are requested only at the moment a feature needs them, and you can revoke any of them at any time from your device settings.
Notex is offline-first. Your notes, shopping lists, care records, and diary entries are stored locally on your device by default.
Your content only leaves your device if you explicitly turn on backup or sync. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data will permanently remove anything that hasn't been backed up — we'd rather tell you that plainly than have it surprise you.
Some optional features — like smart organizing or writing suggestions — use AI to process what you're working on in the moment.
- ✓Content is processed only to generate the suggestion you asked for, never to build an advertising profile.
- ✓Where a feature can run on-device, Notex prefers that; if it needs cloud processing, only the minimum content required is sent.
- ✓AI features are optional and can be switched off from Settings at any time.
Notex keeps outside dependencies to a minimum. We may rely on:
- ✓App-store platforms (such as Google Play) to distribute and update the app.
- ✓Privacy-respecting analytics or crash-reporting tools, used only to find and fix bugs.
Any provider we use is limited by agreement to the minimum access necessary — none of them are permitted to sell your data.
- ✓We do not sell your personal information, ever.
- ✓We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
- ✓Information may only be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or with your explicit consent.
We use industry-standard security practices to help protect your information, including encrypted transmission for any data that leaves your device and restricted internal access to backend systems.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but protecting your information is treated as a foundation, not an afterthought.
Notex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it promptly.
Because most of your content lives on your own device, you're already in control of it — you can view, export, or delete it directly within the app at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of any account-linked data we hold. Reach out any time to exercise these.
